Disease that Occurs Due To Iodine Deficiency
1-Goiter:
Enlargement thyroid gland leads to swelling in the anterior aspect of the neck.
2-Mental & Physical Disability:
Iodine deficiency in children results to mental and physical impairment.
3-Pregnancy disorder:
Iodine deficiency in pregnant ladies may result to abortion and may also cause hypothyroidism in mothers leading to death.
Iodine Deficiency Disease Control
In order to overcome iodine deficiency it is essential to use IODISED SALT in food.
